Next morning, awal2 pagi lepas breakfast we headed towards our ex-college, KMYUEM formerly known as KMYS in Lembah Beringin near Tanjung Malim. We went there because we had alumni special program which includes football tournament and talk between alumni and the current students. Basically me, my wife and our friends went there just for the football tournament..hehehe..It’s surprised us because we were actually the oldest batch that turned up during the event. Rase macam tua sangat dah and our performance during the football games actually justified the fact that we are actually old..hehehe..Oh, so as you know, we are the second batch of the college. The first batch did not come, so technically we are the oldest batch la and the newest intake is the 10th.batch. For that tournament we were drawn in a group consist of batch 7, 9 and 10. So I guess, age wise, the difference is not so huge but in terms of fitness level, there is massive gap there. Gilela budak2 tu fitness level memang dahsyat, physically they are looking so fit and strong. Whereas us, taktau la nak cakap macam mane…hehehe..Eventhough we know that physically we are not up to the level tapi semangat untuk menang tetap berkobar2..hehhe..
'Veteran' team, The Second Batch...Are we looking like a real contender?Hehehe..No la, nampak friendly and ceria gitu..hehe
During the group stage, we won 1 (against Batch 10) and lost 2. Just to let you know yang menang satu tu, aku la yang score, very last minute. Lepas score je referee immediately blew the whistle. Kire jadi hero la..hehehe..So based on the results, we were ranked third in our group and qualify (?) for the loser’s pool semi final. Jadila..hehehe..We supposed to play against staff’s team but they did not turn up, so automatically we advanced to the final. Surprisingly the other semi final also did not materialize because one of the team failed to show up. Before we played the final match, we were told that winner of loser’s pool will also be given medals, ape lagi masing2 bersemangatla nak menang. Tak kisahla loser’s pool pun janji dapat medal..hehehe..In the final, we again played Batch 10 that we defeated during the group stage. We played quite well and I believe that we totally deserved the win. We won 1-0 in the final courtesy to Bozat’s winning goal and assisted by you-know-who-la..heheheh…
The winner of Loser's Pool..Semua nampak happy gile, untuk kitorang yang 'veteran' ni, menang loser's pool pun dah kira bagus sangat la tu..yang penting we had a very great time playing football together and of course dapat medals jugak =)
I present to you, "The Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament"..hehehe..taklah, saje je bergaya dengan piala pusingan...
Aksi seorang veteran..skill masih tak hilang..hehehe...gaye tu penting beb walaupun kalah!Adam nanti daddy ajar main bola ek..=)
What actually surprised and touched me, right before the match when I was warming up, I heard somebody from far chanted my name, “Taufik!Taufik!”. Ingatkan sape rupenye 1 of college’s supporting staff Abg Hamdan. When I looked at him, I could recognise his face but simply could not recall his name. I really feel so bad because he still remember my name eventhough it’s been 6 years since I left the college. Even, some of my teacher and old friends could not remember me when I met them. Muke berkerut2 to remember me but when I say I’m Taufik then barula, the usual lines burst out loud,“Oh my god! You are so different!”. But this Abg Hamdan, I’m so surprised because he still remembers me by looking from far, plus with my total different physical outlook. Then, I asked the juniors his name then barula I replied him. Mase awal2 I setakat angkat2 tangan je la dari jauh so that takde la nampak sangat yang aku ni tak ingat dia..Seriously aku rasa sangat dihargai bile ade somebody like Abg Hamdan yang still remember me walaupun dah lame gile tak jumpe. Kalau your own class mates ke or somebody close orait lagi, itupun ade gak yang can not recognize me, inikan supporting staff yang kenal gitu2 je..Actually when I was in the college, me and my batch always play football in our very own so called “New Trafford”. Most of the supporting staffs who live near by always join us playing football including Abg Hamdan. I guess that’s how kitorang baik kot.
My wife mase kitorang main bola tu dia jadi our photographer la with the new camera and of course most of the pictures have me in it..hehehe..Thanx sayang! When we had a break in the afternoon, we took the opportunity to wander around our college. We went to the taman in front of the resource centre where we all normally lepak2 in between classes, went to see the concourse in front of great hall where we had our ‘samurai’ game during the orientation, we also went to see the dining room, my wife chalet, the multi purpose hall etc..This short visit actually brings all of our memories back to our mind. The experience and memories that we have during our time there are actually priceless. Mase jalan2 tu my wife asked me,
“Bang, nape kita tak bercinta kat kolej ek?”
Ape aku reply ek, tak ingat la..Hmm, btul jugak
